As if this week wasn't going to be exciting enough, with
WICKEDLY POWERFUL coming out on Tuesday, I got the new cover for DANGEROUSLY CHARMING, the first of the Riders books. It's being marketed as a new trilogy, but don't worry, they are a continuation of the Baba Yaga series, and the Babas will appear in the stories. It is just that each of the Riders will get his own book. Mikhail Day is up first.
Dangerously Charming won't be out until October 4th (although believe it or not, it is already up for preorder, at least on
Amazon) but I figured you'd like to see the cover now anyway. Am I right?
As an author, you always have to worry that the art department, wonderful folks that they are, won't get the character on the cover looking like your own personal image of him or her. I'm happy to say that the lovely folks at Berkley did a great job. I love this cover. What do you think?
Yummy!
ReplyDeleteI know--I think so too! Sadly, the author doesn't get to keep the model. I know because I asked :-)
DeleteLove it! (I especially love the coordination of the colors throughout the cover. And those forearms. Yeah. Those forearms...)
ReplyDeleteOh hells yes, those forearms... I didn't know I was a forearm girl until I saw this cover. And there is something about the way he is looking right at you, that is very "Day." It's as if he is saying, "I could rock your world, baby. It would be magic."
DeleteOooh, lovely! :D

ReplyDeleteKit.
I must say I am reading the first Baba book now and you have no idea how happy I am these three are getting their own books. They stole my heart the second they rode up on the page.
ReplyDeleteI am SO happy to hear that. I am a little worried that folks won't want to read the Riders' stories if the Baba Yagas aren't the main characters. But they are a swell bunch of guys :-)
