Gemstone Class, A Big Surprise, and Samhain Pics

As many of you know, I will be teaching my last online class at my Witchcraft and Writing Workshop Loop this month. (Other than the last couple of installments of the ongoing year-long Sabbats class.) Everyone seems to be pretty excited about the upcoming Crystals & Gemstone Magick workshop, and the class is filling up fast! I have decided on a few of the gemstones I will be discussing already: crystal quartz, amethyst, carnelian, tiger's eye, and lapis. But I am taking requests for another couple of stones that people would really like to learn more about. So--if you're planning to take the class (and if you are, I'd register HERE soon), which other stones and crystals do you want to learn about? Now's your chance to tell me!

And speaking of gemstone magick, you're not going to BELIEVE what I stumbled across the other day.
These are all necklaces from my "Spirit and Potential" line of jewelry, that I made for a while to sell in a friend's shop and when I went to Pagan events. They are necklaces (and the occasional bracelet) all designed to work for a specific task: prosperity, healing, protection, peace, or love, and they're made using the stones that are best suited for that task. I was cleaning out the upstairs room [to make a place to put the lizard] and stumbled across a display box full of these necklaces that I had somehow forgotten about. See--cleaning IS good :-)

I'll talk more about these later if anyone is interested.

And because it is Friday, here is Samhain, demonstrating what happens when you try to take a close-up picture of a cat with a camera that has a dangling handle thong.

I hope you all have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend. Now, tell me which stones you want added to the class...what about black onyx? Or maybe red jasper? Or turquoise....

  1. Hey lady! Nummite! The oldest substance unaltered by time, billions of years old. I want to sign up for this class. I didn't get in for the kitchen magic last time, but went through Pay Pal. Let me know if there's any problem. The kittehs say hi! >^..^<

    1. Kathy, I never even heard of that one! I try to use the stones that most people have access to fairly easily...

Did you pay for the last class and not get to take it?

  2. I totally misread the dates of your gemstone class! Save a slot for me, I'm signing up later today! As you know, I'd love to know about gemstones and minerals that are good for health and healing. Also, Samhain is the cutest damn cat, don't tell Magic.

    1. LOL. It can be our little secret. And consider a place saved!

  3. I LOVE the amethyst necklace with the pentagram. Would these necklaces, by any chance, be for sale?

    1. Lynalar...You actually like the one of those this is my own personal necklace (hence the pentacle). I just added it to the rest to show all the styles.

I might go back to selling them online--I don't do shows any more--if there is enough interest.

  4. Great pics of Samhain! Yes, taking a pic of a cat with a camera that has a dangly bit has it's dangers, but she is so cute as she attacks it!

Stones that I'm particularly interested in: agates, lapis, turquoise. But I pretty much like all of them: quartz, adventurine, sodalite, jasper, and so on.

And how cool that you found those necklaces! It would be great to be able to buy a necklace with a specific purpose.

    1. They are fabulous necklaces, if I do say so myself :-) I always concentrate on my intent for the necklace (healing, for instance) as I am making them, to put my energy into them, and then bless and consecrate them for positive use before selling them.

  5. Samhain is looking adorable, of course! As for stones, I vote to add black onyx, [snowflake] obsidian, and/or garnet. :)

  6. I can't get my cat to stay put for a picture. Peanut sees the camera and is gone before I can even turn it on. BTW, Samhain has such beautiful coloring - what a stunning kitty.

Regarding stones/crystals: definitely turquoise, but tourmaline, garnet, labradorite, and moldavite please. Sodalite would be nice too!

I would also like to know about the different kinds of crystal quartz that I run into(record keepers, gateway, laser pointers etc.) Thank you for the chance to provide input.

    1. Well, I have a zillion pictures of my cats, as you've seen. On the other hand, she's not exactly being cooperative in these, is she? LOL

I hate to display my ignorance even more spectacularly than usual, but what are record keepers, and gateway crystals? And I know about electronic laser pointers, but the ones I know about don't use crystals...

    2. Well...I gather the record keepers tap into ancient wisdom, the laser point (if I am remembering the term correctly) are big points??? I only heard of a gateway crystal once or twice. I don't feel so bad if it isn't commonly known :-)

  7. Jade and Onyx would interest me. Given I love purple and I was born in February, Amethyst is always the first stone I want to know more about. I can always find information on Ruby, Sapphire and Emeralds. So some of the 'lesser' known stones would help.

    Maybe Garnet or Amber.

Thanks for the upcoming class. And even though I'm a dog person, Samhain is super cute.

  8. Nuummite is not all that rare. The local rock/bead shop always has some. If you find you can't get it, let me know. I'll be happy to send you some. Yes, I contacted you on Facebook about it. Got too close to due date, paid but missed it. I'll need to make sure you have my correct address too. Think I sent that on Facebook.
