Feline Friday: The Pirate Book Version

I was going to post a cute cat picture, and then a picture of the new Alex Bledsoe novel, Wake of a Bloody Angel [follow this link for more info and some cool music], which he was kind enough to send me.

But Magic the Cat very kindly decided to combine the two:

What can I say? She loves a good Eddie LaCrosse book, especially when it has PIRATES. Arg!

I love this series sooooo much. Alex is one of the cleverest authors around, and his combination of noir detective novel and sword and sorcery fantasy is the most original thing I've ever read. Since Magic clearly isn't willing to share, I guess you'll have to get your own :-)

the book on Amazon

Have you read any of Alex's books yet? I'd love to know what you think. If not, what book would you recommend for Magic to read next?

  1. If Magic hasn't already read them I suggest Annette Blair's books. She writes modern romances with the heroines being very witchy and there are usually cats involved in most of the stories. She also has a few mysteries. The first of the romances is The Kitchen Witch and the first of the mysteries is A Veiled Deception. Happy reading Magic!

  2. Magic loved The Kitchen Witch and I was lucky enough to meet Annette in person at a writing conference in Salem in 2011--she's a sweetie. The mysteries are sitting in my TBR pile!

  3. There's another mystery series that I can recommend to Miss Magic. The author is Sofie Kelly and the series is called A Magical Cat Mystery. While the heroine herself isn't magical, her two cats are. Owen can become invisible at will and Hercules can walk through walls. There are three books so far; Curiosity Thrilled the Cat, Sleight of Paw, and Copycat Killing (which I just started a few days ago).

Annette is one of my Facebook friends and yes, she is very much a sweetie.
