Twenty Thousand Views

I'm a bit flabbergast. Flabbergasted? Er...flabberstruck. Never mind--I'm just stunned and amazed.

My humble little blog about writing and witches and books and whatevertheheckisgoingonhereusuallytodowithcats has hit the 20,000 views mark.

20,000 times someone (maybe you) has come here to see what I had to say. Okay, a few of them may have been looking for someone else. Or something not to do with writing or witches or cats or reading or cooking or any of the other random things I talk about here. But still, I have to think that most of those 20,000 views were on purpose. And mostly not my mother. *waves to mom*

That's just...well...kinda heartwarming.

So I wanted to say "thank you" to everyone who has been one (or more) of those 20,000. Thanks for reading. Thanks for commenting. Thanks for not pointing and laughing where I can see you...

It really means a lot.

So I'm thinking I should do something to celebrate. 20,000 things, really, but I don't have that much stuff to give away. So how about y'all tell me in the comments why you come here (Magic the Cat says it's all about her, but I don't think so). And I'll pick a random commenter on Sunday and he or she can have the book of mine of his/her choice. Even international folks. And if the winner doesn't want one of my books, he/she/it can pick one of the duplicates I have of friends' books.

So, what brings you here? And what brings you back? Inquiring minds want to know. LOTS of them, apparently.

  1. I just can't hide it. I'm about to lose control, and I think you'd like it! Anyway- Congrats. You write what people need and want to read. No surprises here. ;-)

  2. Hi Deborah=), I come to your blog as you are one of the people in my life who inspire me on a daily basis with your books, blog and Facebook! I'm so pleased you have reached the twenty thousand mark! you deserve it Hun, with all the great words of wisdom you and Magick give us!

  3. I followed you over from LJ. I've really enjoyed the posts about your writing and, of course, Magic and Samhain and company. :)

I'd love to see more magic talk, too!

  4. Congrats! I enjoy reading your posts because I write YA fantasy and so I find a lot of posts interesting. :)

  5. Congrats, Witchy! My daughter comments frequently on her blog that her Dad and I are the most frequent followers, but I think she's wrong; she's a poet and an artist and there is lots there for everyone to see.

It's the same here on your blog, you share a lot of interesting stuff. I followed you here from Lucy's blog.

  6. Hi, I came all the way from Malaysia, a small country next to Singapore. I am writer, just not as established as you are. The reason I view your blog is because there was this one fine day (Probably last week), my heart talked about witchy stuff. And from where I came from, never heard of a witch writer. So, it is an exciting, impulsive search that I got online. Yes, if I am selected, I'd love to have your book with your autograph. Kudos to your success and shall there be more and more writings from you (^_^)

  7. Hi Deborah-
I read your blog because I like you as a person. I'm also interested in the topics near and dear to your heart--witchcraft, magic, and cats. Oh, my!

Congrat's Deborah, love you books. Just got one the other day in ebook form.
Hope you aren't under the winter adversary that more of the east coast.

    Blessed Be

  9. What a lovely bunch of posts to wake up to! Thank you all.

And yes, unfortunately, that winter weather advisory covers my area--they are talking a possible 3-7 INCHES of snow. I'm praying they're wrong. Too early for me...and I really don't want to have to shovel the snow off the circle up behind the barn so Blue Monn Circle and I can do our Samhain ritual!

  10. Im from Ireland and I love reading your posts. You are a very wise and interesting person.

  11. Congrats on 20,000 hits!
I originally came over here after reading one of your books to review, but I chose to stay because I love your personality. You discuss things I am interested in, and I am always looking forward to hearing about new projects. Part of it may be the cat too. ;)

  12. I come to see what is new with you and because my four cats insist that I check on Magic, especially Mulder. I think he has a crush on her. My girls just want to see whats up. Also my protag is a witch. I enjoy your blog.

  13. I've been a happy reader of yours for a while, so I came running when I heard you have a blog - I'm such a follower! I stay because I enjoy hearing about what moves you (or keeps you on the couch!)

    Happy blogging!

  14. I know I like what you write (both here & in your books). I'm always waiting for your next posting to see what interesting tidbit you have for us. It's always informative, interesting, calming, uplifting, or plain funny.

  15. CONGRATULATIONS. Plus there are all the folks like myself that subscribe via email.

I like keeping in touch with a Sister in Goddess who is a writer as well. Plus I too love cats so that is an extra bonus (go magic, go magic!) :-) Your sense of humor and sharing of the simple joys of life has been a blessing to me. Thank you.

  16. I'm from Canada, I follow your blog as a way of connecting to other Witches when that isn't really an option here since none of my friends/family are (at least that I know of).

Congradulationss on all the blog views! =)

  17. Okay--seriously...you guys are going to make me cry. Such lovely things to say. I'm going to have to remember to come back and read all your lovely comments on those days when I start to doubt my path or myself.

    You all ROCK.

Now I'm going to have to give away TWO books.

    Hi Deborah!
WOW! 20,000. That is awesome! :)
I come here because you and I are facebook friends, and we have a lot in common from what I've seen. I live a witchy life with my family and 12 cats (each one is magickal). I am trying to find time to be a writer, and you inspire me to keep plugging away. I would love to have one of your books, but I am happy to just be your friend and share your universe. Thank you for having me :0 Blessed be, and happy Samhain (I hope the snow holds off too)

  19. Hi Deborah B.,
I love how you write. It is warm and open and inviting. I feel like you are here talking to me. Your ability to be who you are, witch, writer, all round great person, comes through in all your writings. You inspire me to put one foot in front of the other and be who I am even if part of me is still in the broom closet. Thanks so much.
    Have a Blessed Samhain!
    Deborah C.
P.S. Tell Magic she is partly the reason why we come here. ‘)

  20. Dear Bastet,
    You have a great name!
And also obviously very good taste.

    Much love,
    Magic the Cat

PS--For those of you who don't know, Bastet is the name of the Eqyptian goddess who is often seen as part cat and part woman...

  21. Hi Deborah,

Congratulations! Though I'm not surprised that you have so many visitors/fans...I keep reading your page because I love your writing and your warm, wise and positive voice. It's also fun to have a first-hand account of your fabulous witchy life, because (like others here have said), I don't really have similar examples in my own life. Keep up the great work!

  23. I read your blog because you're a great teacher and a great writer and because it's fun!

  24. Merry Meet Miss Deborah.
What brings me here? YOU!(Okay, and Magic- but don't tell her I didn't mention her first hehe) You and all the energy, education, fun, inspiring things you provide and share. Reading your blog is always a delight.
