Happy Birthday to Me! (And a gift for y'all.)

Yes, it's that time of year again. No, not National Hot Fireman with a Cute Kitten Day, although it should be
You're Welcome, Ladies . In point of fact, it is my birthday. Tomorrow, April 28th, I will be 32 um...42 older than you are, probably. Definitely older than that fireman, more's the pity. Ahem.

Anyway, I started celebrating today with a lovely lunch with pals Ellie (who runs The Artisans Guild with me) and Bobbie (from Blue Moon Circle). We all went out to a great Cajun restaurant, where we ate way too much yummy food, including this guy:
(The owner, Bryan, had just gone to visit his family in Louisiana, and came back with some genuine Louisiana crayfish. Seriously--yum.)

Tomorrow, I will be going with my friend Ellen to a Beltane celebration outside of Binghamton. I may even dance around a May Pole. I'll let you know :-)

In the meanwhile, my fabulous critique partner Lisa sent me an amazing Tetsubin (a small Japanese cast iron tea pot--one of which is featured in her great YA series, so she wanted to make sure I knew what her character was talking about--lol)
Isn't is pretty? You can't quite tell from this picture, but it is a beautiful lavender color.

And I'm rewarding myself for finishing the novel revisions in time for my birthday by starting a book I have REALLY been looking forward to The Garden of Happy Endings by Barbara O'Neal.

I am having a lovely birthday, so I arranged with my fabulous webmistress/epub expert/newsletter goddess Robin Wright to use one of our remaining free days for my epubbed short story. (When you put a story up on Amazon under certain circumstances which she understands but I don't, see above, you get a total of 5 days when you can give the story away for free.) So, if you weren't around when we gave away Witch Upon a Star the last time, now is your big chance! From midnight EST tonight to midnight on the 28th, you can go to Amazon and download the short story (a paranormal romance set in the Star Stone series that starts with the novel, Witch Ever Way You Can ). Feel free to tell all your friends; I am happy to share. Happy birthday to me--and thank you all for another great year!

FREE Short Story Celebration

If you've been around at all for the last couple of days, you will have seen that I am having a pretty happy writer's week. This blog was featured as the "Website of the Week" over at the Writer's Digest site, which is a HUGE honor, and tickled me pink. (And a few other colors.) The blog also hit 30,000 views, which just blew me away. I finished up another great class over at my workshop loop, and started on the revisions to Seeds of Change, the current WIP.

Anyway, the point is, when I announced my happy dancing over the Website of the Week, I said I might celebrate with a gift for all the folks who read this blog. *blows kisses*

So I called the amazing Robin Wright, who is my website guru and mistress of all things eBook-ish, and she arranged for the new short story, WITCH UPON A STAR (which follows the events in the paranormal romance novel, WITCH EVER WAY YOU CAN) to be FREE for the next couple of days. Yes, I said FREE. For anyone. Just go to Amazon between midnight PST tonight and midnight PST Saturday night (basically, Fri & Sat) and you can have it for free. It's a gift from me to you, to thank you all for being so supportive and fantabulous!

THANKS! YOU ROCK!!!

Witch Upon a Star (A Star Stone Story) Available for free starting at midnight (Pacific time) tonight!

NEW Short Story WITCH UPON A STAR

Witch Upon a Star is a short story that follows the events in my paranormal romance novel, WITCH EVER WHEN YOU CAN. For those of you who read the book and asked "what happens next?" here is the answer! (Or at least part of it.)

And the good news? It is only $.99 -- FREE if you have Amazon Prime! Whoo hoo!

Here's a brief description of the story:
What could be worse than having your sexy actor boyfriend phone to cancel your long-awaited weekend together? Having to call on the mystical power you swore you’d never use again and praying to the goddess that it will help him save a mysteriously failing wetlands.
Deirdre would do anything for Rob. And she’d do anything for Mother Nature, since she’s a Wiccan. But maybe they’re both asking more than she can give. Unfortunately, there’s only one way to find out.
The story of the Star Stone continues…

If you weren't sure if you wanted to fork out a whole $2.99 for the novel, for less than a buck you can check out the short story and see if you want to read more...

I'd really love to have a GREAT first week with this book (believe it or not, these things matter with Amazon ratings and such), so PRETTY PLEASE spread the word to all your friends. Where else can you get something so cool for less that a dollar?

Hey--why are you still here reading this when you could be reading the short story? Follow the link below to check it out. And thanks as always for your support.

And here is the novel, if you read the short story and can't wait to see how Deirdre's and Rob's adventures began...

Happy reading :-)
