From Russia With Love

No--I'm not talking about James Bond movies (or books, for that matter).

I'm talking about this surprise package I got in the mail from the lovely folks at Llewellyn yesterday:

Yes, that's my book, EVERYDAY WITCH A TO Z...in Russian :-) It looks very different from the original English version, doesn't it?

Still, I got a kick out of knowing that now witches in Russia could sit around a samovar, sipping tea, and reading my book!

  3. How cool Deborah! Now we just have to focus on you being a bestseller there.

  4. That is so affirmative of your successful writer status. I know you have written it already, but still, another book added to the shelf of books by Deborah Blake.

OT question for you - would there be spells one could do to rid themselves or their premises of ghosts? If so, where would I go, book or website wise, to find them.

  5. Is it even POSSIBLE to get too big a kick out of this?? Congratulations and enjoy! (Back to edits, back to edits...!) :o)

  6. Judy--
My spellbook has a ghost blessing for ghosts that aren't causing a problem, to aid in continued good relations, as it were. And I do have a banishing spell that might work.

But ghosts aren't my area of expertise, frankly.

If you go to www.Llewellyn.com they have all kinds of magickal books, a number of which have to do with ghosts. YOu might be able to find one there.

  12. You're welcome, CLever C/B! And thanks. Are you going to be at NECRWA in Salem at the end of the month? I'll be signing them there.

  13. I'd love to be there. I'm ashamed to say I haven't even joined RWA yet. Soon.

  14. It is a great organization. Best bang for your writer's buck you can get.

Join now and come to Nationals in NYC :-)

And I don't think you have to be an RWA member to come to the Salem event. Do you live anywhere near there?

  15. No - I'm in KY. And currently working weekends, though not much longer. The 100 yo lady I'm watching has refused to get out of bed or eat more than a few spoonfuls of apple sauce, since her 101 yo husband of 76 years, died about 3 weeks ago. She's not long for this world.
I never know what kind of situation or hours I will get next.

  16. Wow--who could blame her. My grandmother just died at almost 100, but she lost my grandfather in 1976. Never did stop missing him, though.

  17. One of the things I love about Russian is the beauty of the written language. Now I just wish I could read more if it still.
