DANGEROUSLY FIERCE Release Day Giveaway Extravaganza

It's here! It's out today! What am I shouting about? DANGEROUSLY FIERCE, of course. This is the third book in the Broken Riders series, a spinoff of the Baba Yaga series. Berkley put out the first three book in series one and the first two in series two, but then I lost my contract, which meant that my faithful readers weren't going to get Alexei's story. I couldn't have that, could I? So I wrote it and self-published it (with the help of multiple brilliant first readers, a new cover artists, and the amazing Sierra Newburn, who did all the file conversions and uploading).

Didn't the cover come out well?
And here it is! To celebrate, I'm doing a HUGE release day giveaway extravaganza. I hope you'll all help me to spread the word (both about the book release and the giveaway)--if this experiment is successful, I might even write another Baba Yaga or Riders book/novella/short story. We'll have to see how it goes. I hope you're as excited as I am!

Because so many people love this series so much, I've decided to do a multiple winner giveaway, and spread the love around. Here's what we've got:

The Grand Prize: A Kindle Fire 7 (with Alexa...I'm not sure how they fit her in that little box). It's red!

Plus Prize #2
A large tote bag (for all your books, of course) and a notebook with the cover on them

Prize #3
Signed copies of two of the few remaining ARCs (advanced reader copies) of Dangerously Charming and Dangerously Divine, the first two books in the series, plus a fun dragon. (There are a LOT of dragons in Dangerously Fierce...)

Limited edition ARCs!
 Prize #4
Signed copies of the mass market versions of both Dangerously Charming and Dangerously Divine, plus the last of the cool key chains I had made for Dangerously Charming promo, and one small and one large magnet.

I love these key chains, don't you?
Plus all the winners will get these great bookmarks, a postcard, and a magnet.

To enter, just fill in the Rafflecopter form below. As always, no purchase is necessary and you get credit for anything you've done already, like sign up for my newsletter.

If you want to run right out and buy the book, here are some links. It will be available in both eBook AND print form, although right now Amazon is the only one with the print version available. I'll let you know when the print versions are available elsewhere. (There was a tiny glitch with Amazon, so right now there are different links for print and for eBook. We hope to get that fixed soon.)

ALL THE LINKS:
Kobo - https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/dangerously-fierce

(Before you ask, no, I won't be putting it out in audiobook form. I know people love those, but they're very expensive to produce, alas.)

Don't forget that the most helpful thing you can do for an author besides buying the book is to review it and spread the word...assuming you like it, of course.

Short Short Story and Amazon Gift Card at Literary Escapism

And so it begins...

Release day for Dangerously Divine is right around the corner (Tuesday the 28th!), so I'm going to be popping up all over the Interwebs with fun things and giveaways. Today I'm kicking off the Black Friday short short story blitz at Literary Escapism with a short story about Gregori which takes place right before the events of Dangerously Divine. The poor man is trying to find the perfect Yule gifts for three Baba Yagas, their husbands, a teenage witch, and little Babs. Where on earth could he ever find something perfect for such an eclectic bunch? Find out the answer HERE

I'm also giving away a $25 Amazon gift card over at the blog, so be sure to enter the contest after you read the short story. I'd love, love, love it if you'd come back here and tell me what you thought!

Speaking of contests, don't forget to enter the one here on my blog http://deborahblake.blogspot.com/2017/11/huge-giveaway-for-dangerously-divine.html It's on through the end of the day Sunday. Or Monday. I can't remember. Either way, go enter now! (Check out the list of other giveaways on that post too.)

And the lovely Maria V. Snyder is doing a Thanksgiving giveaway of a few of her (FABULOUS) books, plus those of some of her favorite author pals. She surprised me by including a copy of Dangerously Charming as one of the giveaways. Isn't that sweet? Because the contests are for real readers, not just people who enter every contest they see, you have to answer questions to enter. But she said it was okay to tell my readers the answers, just in case they hadn't read her books (hint: you should, they're amazing). So you can use "Ari" and "Janco" or just put in "Deborah sent me" to enter. Maria's giveaway

If you haven't done it yet, you might also want to check out my new Patreon page. We're going to be doing lots of fun things over there, including a serialized never-before-seen humorous paranormal novel and monthly witchcraft classes, for people who sign up at certain levels. PATREON

But do come back here and tell me if you read the story, and if so, what you thought! Happy Black Friday all. I'm off to work at The Artisans' Guild.

Dangerously Divine is Coming Giveaway

I can't believe it! DANGEROUSLY DIVINE will be out in less than a month! Release day is November 28th. Whoo hooo! I hope you are all as excited as I am to *finally* get to see the second book in The Broken Rider series out in the world. (The first one, DANGEROUSLY CHARMING, came out over a year ago, in October, and this one was supposed to be out in March this year, but got pushed back by the publishing company due to scheduling issues. So if it seems like there has been a long gap, you're not imagining things.)

Ta da!
The Broken Riders series is a spin-off from the Baba Yaga series, and follows the three Riders introduced in those books. DANGEROUSLY CHARMING, the first in the series, was Mikhail's story. DANGEROUSLY DIVINE follows the adventures of his brother Gregori Sun, the Red Rider. I had a lot of fun writing this book, which is set in Minnesota. (Fun fact: that's where my witchcraft book publisher, Llewellyn, is located, so I was able to pick the brain of my nonfiction editor for info for my fiction.) I really adore Gregori, although he isn't as flashy as his two brothers. Who is your favorite?

Here's what it is all about. (And don't believe the weird glitch in the listing Amazon has under their rankings. There are no vampires in the book. Oy.) Just in case you need to catch up, I'm going to give away a copy of the first book

The Riders: Three immortal brothers who kept the Baba Yagas safe, now stripped of their summons to protect. But fate is not finished with them—and their new callings are even more powerful...

Though his physical wounds have healed, Gregori Sun, the eldest of the Riders, remains in spiritual turmoil. His search for his mother, the one person able to heal his soul and save his life, is failing—until he crosses paths with a beautiful and fascinating librarian who might be the key to his salvation...

Ciera Evans’s bookish ways are just a guise. The product of a difficult past, she has dedicated her life to saving lost teens—by any means necessary. She works alone, but when a dark, brooding stranger proposes they team up to solve both their problems, she is tempted—in more ways than one...

After Ciera and Sun’s plans are derailed by dangerous enemies, they find themselves entangled in an ungodly affair—one that will force them to either find new strength together or be forever haunted by their pasts alone.

Just in case you need to catch up, I'm going to give away a copy of the first book, PLUS an ARC (advanced reader copy) of the new one! Plus, I have a couple of those cute key rings I had made for Dangerously Charming, so I'm going to throw one of those in too. Let's get this party started.

Two books, a key chain, and a few extra goodies

Only 3 of these left!

You might have to fight Magic for this one. She seems to think it is a cat toy.
As always, just use the Rafflecopter form below. You get credit for anything you do already (like following me on Twitter and signing up for my newsletter) and extra credit for leaving a comment, or a few other things. (Just as a note: Dangerously Charming hasn't had a review in EIGHT MONTHS! Sniffle. So if you read it and liked it, I'd be forever grateful if you'd pop over to Amazon, Goodreads, or B&N and leave a quick review. It doesn't have to be long or fancy.) No purchase necessary.

Although I'll be pretty happy if you preorder the book, of course.

And watch this space, because there are all sorts of other good things coming up as we get closer to release day!

Gratitude Giveaway and Year's End Summary

Well...this has been a year, hasn't it? Lots of good things, and lots of bad, alas. But in the end, I am still so grateful for all I have. And especially grateful for YOU, my friends, readers, and fans. So I'm doing one last giveaway this year for no reason other than to say thank you for taking this journey with me. Thank you for buying my books, and for putting up reviews (really, THANK YOU), and for generally spreading the word and being supportive. Y'all make the hard work worth it. So I'm doing this:

Carried away? Moi? Never.

So, here's this year in review--briefly, because otherwise we'll be here all day.
Good stuff:
Well, I had two books out, which is great. WICKEDLY POWERFUL was the third Baba Yaga novel, which was then followed by DANGEROUSLY CHARMING the first Rider novel.

BOOKS!
Got to go visit my friends in Connecticut, got visits from pal Bethany and her charming hubby Jarrod, and my stepdaughter Jenn, and FINALLY met long-time author pal Alex Bledsoe in person at Robercon (where I also got to hang out with the fabulous Tamora Pierce, which is always a joy).

Terry and Glenn in Connecticut

Jarrod, Bethany, and me

My kid and her two moms (no, not THAT kind of two moms)

Alex, me, and the fab Tammy
Plus, of course, the tarot deck is coming out any minute, so that might end up counting toward this year too.

Mind you, there was a lot of not great stuff too. I lost Mystic and Magic's mother Minerva in March (wow, that's a lot of M's). Had to rehome little Luna, because she couldn't adjust to the other cats (although she IS blissfully happy at her new house and I get to visit often). Angus was sick for months with an eye infection, then Mystic got seriously ill and almost died. (They both got better. That definitely counts toward the "good" column.) I seriously hurt my knee on the first of April, and it is still taking it's slow time recovering, and then I got shingles (which are brought on by stress, so I blame the election, plus all that other stuff...). Plus, you know, life.

Overall, I'd have to say it was a pretty tough year, where the not-so-great stuff often overwhelmed the great. But I survived and have hopes that next year will be better. And in the meanwhile, I still have a lot to be grateful for, including all of you. So thanks! And now, I'm going to do one last giveaway for the year, just because I can. Maybe it will finish off a few other people's years right.

Here's what we've got! A Fire tablet, a set of ALL FOUR BOOKS (signed, of course), winner's choice of one of three book cover notebooks, and a Deborah Blake calendar for 2017 plus a broom pen to write in it with. Four prizes, four winners. Woot!

No, Magic the Cat doesn't come with the prizes.

Winner gets his or her pick!

No, Angus doesn't come with the prize either. But his picture is in the calendar.
As always, all you have to do to enter is fill out the Rafflecopter form below. You get credit for anything you've already done, like following the blog, or signing up for my newsletter. And because it is my big end-of-year giveaway, I'm opening it up internationally. There is no purchase required, although of course, if you want to give ME a year's end present and buy one of my books, or put up a review for one you read, I won't tell you not to!

Good luck, thanks for everything, and happy holidays, whichever one you happen to celebrate.

Dangerously Charming Two Week Report and Giveaway

It's hard to believe, but DANGEROUSLY CHARMING has been out for two weeks!

Still pretty shiny
People have been asking me how the book is doing, and to be honest, the answer is: I think it is doing well, but it is really hard to know for sure. Mind you, I was pretty happy to see this on day two..

Getting to #106 in the SF & Fantasy/Fantasy/Romantic category for Kindle was definitely great. Sales are down a bit since then, of course, now that the first release rush is over (have you gotten your copy yet?) but the reviews are starting to come in, and most of them are pretty good. The bad ones are hardly making me cry at all. If you've read the book and loved it, could you put up a review at Amazon, Goodreads, and/or B&N pretty please? You would have my undying gratitude.

I thought we'd celebrate with a small giveaway: a $10 Amazon gift card. If you haven't read the book yet, you could use it to buy a copy (or catch up with the Baba Yaga series, if you need to). Or, you know, anything else you want, or even buy a copy for a friend!

Thanks so much for making the last two weeks such a success! And keep an eye out, because I should have the cover release for DANGEROUSLY DIVINE, Gregori Sun's story, any day now...

Are you as excited as I am? I hope so.

In case you missed it, I'm doing an informal Release Day party on my Facebook Author Page (you're following me there, right?) from 3PM-9PM today, October 4th. I'm giving away all sorts of goodies and generally sharing my joy with whoever shows up. Will you be there to help me celebrate?

Here's a couple of links you might want to check out, in the meanwhile:

For a fun look at Day’s adventures, there is a short-short story over at Literary Escapism

Plus I have a guest post and giveaway at Fang-Tastic Books http://fang-tasticbooks.blogspot.com/2016/10/guest-blog-and-giveaway-dangerously.html and you can read the first chapter and enter the giveaway over at The Qwillery http://qwillery.blogspot.com/2016/10/excerpt-from-dangerously-charming-by.html

If you wish you could hang out with me in person, here’s a link to a video interview I did at Shelf Addiction https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHJCTr5v9gI

AND Amazon has the print version on sale right now for $6.29, for those of you who like a bargain. Here are a few of the buy links:

Barnes & Noble |Amazon |Penguin

If you do buy the book, I hope you’ll post a review on Amazon, B&B, and/or Goodreads when you’re done, since those reviews are a big part of what gets other people to read the book.

Thanks to all of you for all the encouragement and cheering about this book. It means more to me than I can say. Happy Release Day to us!
