Maybe not as impressive as some of the books other people have mentioned, but it's actually one of the best ones I've ever read! Short of Wuthering Heights. :)Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03413825184379531748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5118905778148213851.post-79544689443226122862011-09-07T11:21:33.292-04:002011-09-07T11:21:33.292-04:00You're very welcome, Tawna. I meant every word :-) One of the best books I've read all year, and I want to MAKE everyone run out and read it!<br /><br />Judy--I know what you mean. At one point I thought, "What--no green M & M's?"<br /><br />Melissa--The series sounds great. I'll have to add it to the list. Damn you :-)Deborah Blakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04032614187237072683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5118905778148213851.post-51201352214960331152011-09-07T08:17:26.141-04:002011-09-07T08:17:26.141-04:00I didn't know it was National Read-a-Book day!...I didn't know it was National Read-a-Book day! I am currently obsessing heavily over Naomi Novik's Temeraire series. It's a brilliant take on historical fantasy, with the captain of a naval vessel during the Napoleonic Wars becoming the unwitting captain of a dragon in the British aerial fleet as the result of a captured egg's hatching in his presence and the dragon choosing him. it's Hornblower meets Anne McCaffrey's Pern. I am loving this series! The dragons are SO GREAT, and what's brilliant is that she writes it so this is actually a plausible thing - natural disasters suffered throughout the wars, such as tidal waves taking out ships and such - are being credited as the work of dragons in the unsung heroic aerial fleets of the various countries. Truly fun to read, and I've blitzed through the first six and am eagerly awaiting the seventh!Melissahttp://caridwen.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5118905778148213851.post-35416911875143897062011-09-07T00:39:21.158-04:002011-09-07T00:39:21.158-04:00I did enjoy Mogul's Maybe Marriage.
