Whoo hoo! Great news and giveaway!

Sorry I haven't been around much...I'm deep into the final stages of writing the first draft of Dangerously Divine, Gregori Sun's book. In fact, I hope to be finished by the end of this week. I tend to vanish when I'm in that last push.

In the meanwhile, though, I have exciting news I couldn't wait to share with you!

Many of you have been asking me if there was going to be a sequel to VEILED MAGIC, the urban fantasy put out by Berkley as an ebook through Intermixx last November.

As of this week, the answer is YES!!!!!!!! Not only are they going to put out the second book in the series, they're doing the third one as well!

Wheeeeeeee!
We're not sure exactly when the next one will be out, but probably sometime next spring. Here's the blurb from the first one, in case (gasp!) you haven't read it yet:
Since Witches came out of the broom-closet in the early 21st century, they have worked alongside humans as police officers, healers, stock traders, and more. But they aren’t the only paranormal entities in our world...

Police officer and Witch Donata Santori spends her days interrogating dead witnesses by summoning their spectral forms. Normally the job is little more than taking statements and filing reports. But when she’s called in on the case of a murdered art restorer, she finds herself suddenly in possession of a mystical portrait that both the human and paranormal communities would kill to get their hands on.

Unable to take on the forces hunting her alone, Donata seeks help from two unlikely and attractive allies: a reluctant shape-changer and a half-dragon art forger. But as the three of them hurry to uncover the truth about the powerful painting, Donata realizes that she’s caught in the middle of not one but two wars—one for possession of the painting’s secrets and one for possession of her heart...
In the meanwhile, obviously, we're going to have to celebrate, right?

How about a cool prize pack of Veiled Magic goodies?

Goodies!
There's a tote bag, a notebook, a mouse pad, and some bookmarks and such. As usual, to be entered, just use the Rafflecopter form below. Don't worry if some of the options are things you have already done (like following the blog)--it still counts. The only things that have to be new are the review option and the "Buy Veiled Magic" option. [And remember, if you don't own an eReader, you can still buy the book on Amazon and download their free app to read it on your computer.]

So tell me, have you read Veiled Magic yet? If so, did you like Donata, the main character? She's a very different kind of witch from the ones in the Baba Yaga books...but I still think she's pretty cool!

  7. I haven't read "Veiled Magic" yet for only one reason. Neither the Brooklyn or Queens County Libraries have it in their collection to borrow.

I'll have to get it from Amazon and download it.
