Feline Friday: Cats Who Read

One of the things I do when I get a book by a favorite author (besides jump up and down for joy) is post  a picture on Twitter. With a cat, because otherwise it's kind of boring. Here's a few of my recent "happy" reads.

I just got Jim Butcher's newest Harry Dresden book! I've been waiting for this one since the minute I finished the last one! YAY!

But I have to finish reading this first. (I know--no cat. Sorry.)
Other things I've read this year (you'll see I love a wide variety of genres, from fantasy to paranormal romance to urban fantasy to woman's fiction to contemporary romance, plus a few not represented here). All these are by authors I like so much I buy (not just read) every book they put out.

And, of course, there was this :-)

Now that I have a Kindle, it makes putting these pictures up a little more challenging at times. But when author (and Betty) Tawna Fenske put out a call for pictures of her newest release in the wild, I decided that Samhain would have to be wild enough.

Who are your favorite authors? What are you reading now?

  1. I'm super excited for Skin Game, except I have to wait for mine to be delivered! I'm also kind of worried, since my copy of Cold Days had actually been missing pages in the middle of an action scene (which I found out the hard way and then embarrassingly cried in front of my family from the frustration) so I'm super paranoid about reading this one.

I also have Night Broken and, while it's been on my shelf for a while, I keep forgetting to read it! I'll admit though that Frost Burned left me a bit disappointed, feeling like the series might be "jumping the shark", but I'm going to read Night Broken before I make that call.

  2. I've read all of Ilona Andrews books, which is frustrating because I WANT MORE. The downside of having had too much time to read and access to ebooks at any time, day or night, via a good library system. I've been working my way through Jeaniene Frost and recently read a sweet series by Nora Roberts (although all her characters now talk like Eve Dallas from her JD Robbs series, which is lazy of her and annoying to me) and I've been reading some books by Jayne Ann Krentz's alter ego Jayne Castle. I enjoy her stories, but her sex scenes are pretty much all the same, so I skip them. I've also started a series by Michelle Sagara. While the end of the first book made me cry a lot, it's so well-written I'm going to give the second book a try, in case it doesn't make me cry. :) And Ineed to remember to buy Tawna's new book. I just love her writing!

  3. I got behind on the Ilona Andrews books and now really need to reread the first 4-5 that I have before starting in on them again.

  4. I usually read 3-4 books at a time, and like you I read a lot of different genres. Currently I'm reading Sharon K. Butcher's Burning Alive, Christine Feehan's Burning Wild, C.S. Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of The Dawn Treader, YOUR book The Goddess Is In The Details (it's the book I read just before bed so I can end the night on a good note) and a short story on my Kindle called Cynders and Ashe but I forget the author's name.

MUST have reads are Jim Butchers The Dresden Files books, Annette Blair's Vintage Magic series, Sofie Kelly's Magical Cats mystery series (which I highly recommend if you love cats) and Carrie Vaughn's Kitty Norville series (very cool werewolf series).

    1. I just read the first Sofie Kelly book (on the recommendation of Skye, above) and the next one is on my Kindle. And I read the first couple of Kitty Norville books and need to go back and catch up...
