February Feline Friday Feast!

Okay, I just couldn't resist all the "F's." :-)

Well, people, we made it through January. Only 48 days until spring. Not that I'm counting, or anything. On the other hand, I am enjoying the quieter days, and slowly working my way through writing the new Llewellyn book, which I'm hoping to get to my editor within a couple of weeks. (It's not due until March 31st, but she really needs it earlier. Important lesson for prospective authors: any time you can do your editor a favor, DO IT.)

In the meanwhile, here are some Feline Friday pics to brighten up the end of your week.

Tell me the best thing that happened to you this week, and brighten up mine!

This is my favorite cat picture of the week. I call it, "Who knew you could get that from Amazon?"
(Snicker. That's Mystic, proving yet again that cats will sit in a box whenever possible.)

Samhain, completely ignoring the "No cats on the TV tables" rule. Proving yet again that I am SO not the one in charge at my house. (In case you're wondering, the book on the table is Tanya Huff's A Long Hot Summoning, and it was fabulous.)

The three-cornered bed hold. It's a well-known cat wrestling move, in which three cats hold down a waterbed, just in case it decides to get frisky. (The cats love the waterbed, since it is warm and comfy. The author loves it for the same reason. On a cold winter's night, it's like crawling back into the womb. Don't judge me.) That's Mystic in the front, Angus in the yellow coat on the left, and Minerva in the back.

And here was my best moment from the week:
That's the sunrise, a few days ago. Pretty spectacular eh? It really made my heart sing.

What made your heart sing this week?

  1. Wonderful pictures! I just love the pictures of your cats. I get vicarious cat love that way. :) And they are entertaining.

Probably the two best parts of my week were my therapy session Monday and my lunch with a good friend on Wednesday. The rest of the week was kind of a non-starter.

  2. Love the pics! What a beautiful sunrise, and the cats look like they are very comfy. Hmm. It was a pretty regular week for me, except I tried to get a bunch of housework and cleaning done before Imbolc. (Didn’t get everything done that I had wanted to (and probably tried to do too much!), but still accomplished a lot.) Hmm, highlight would be getting to know a new friend and making plans to hang out with her this Saturday! Have a great weekend! :)

  3. I thing Samhain isn't so much ignoring the 'no-cats-on-the-table rule as expressing a philosophical position about said rule. Love the cats, and your sunrise. My heart is singing because it's Friday & I leave work in 45 minutes. Happy weekend, blessed Imbolc!

    1. You may be right. Magic the Cat has a philosophical position on the "no cats on the counter" rule. She just thinks it applies to everyone else, and not her.

      yay for Friday!

  4. I love the cat pictures! I think it's so interesting the cats all took different corners. They're willing to be near eachother, but they need their individual space.

At the beginning of the week, my mother visited me in a dream. Being with her was full of warmth and light and I carried that feeling with me through the whole day. It was great.

    1. Occasionally Mystic and Minerva will curl up together, but mostly they have their own spots :-)

And that dream of your mom sounds wonderful! *hugs*

  5. Waterbed wrangling? I thought they were triangulating your landing position...

New words. Lots of new, shiny words. This always makes my heart sing. Also? Finches splashing in the fountain and the moon. She's been gorgeous this week.

  6. Mystic acts and looks like he's the top cat. Perhaps that's one reason why he likes to be perched up so high He's darling! So are your other cats.

My heart has been singing all week because a published author volunteered to critique my entire manuscript once it's finished! Then on Friday, I bought a fairy. A unique fairy figurine. She's purple with white hair. She's also carrying a green lantern and holding a black cat. The fact that she' so unusual looking with white hair while carrying my favorite creature in all the world called to my soul.

    1. His sister Magic would argue that "top cat' thing...

Congrats on the critiquing and the new pal--they both sound great!
