Questions about Jewelry

Most of you follow me here (assuming you do...and hey, if you haven't clicked the "follow" button, why not? and if you haven't signed up to get this fascinating blog sent to your email, why not?) because of my writing, my witchy-ness, or both. Or because you're a Betty. [You know who you are, and I love you all.] A few of you might even follow me because I post a lot of cute cat pictures :-)

But I also make jewelry--in my copious free time, when I'm not running The Artisans' Guild, writing, teaching online classes, and such--and some folks have expressed interest in that as well.

So here's my question for the day:

1) Are you interesting in hearing more about the jewelry and/or seeing more pictures?
2) Would you actually want to buy jewelry from me (either for yourself or as a gift)?
3) If you did, would you rather go through my Etsy shop or just look at pictures here and then pay through Paypal?
4) Or would you rather I just stuck to talking about writing, witchcraft, and cats?

Hmmm...that's four questions, isn't it?

It is fine to just answer in the comments with something simple, like No, no, don't care, Gods yes! LOL
Or you can give me more details if you want.

But it would really help me to know if posting pics of the jewelry (or adding more to the Etsy shop, which is incredibly time consuming) would be a waste of time, or if people are really interested. So if you have a moment, I'd appreciate you letting me know. Thanks!

And happy Veteran's Day. BIG THANKS to those who serve, or who love someone who does.

    3. Tamera,
LOL. I don't know about that, but thank you. I guess I'll post a few here and a few there, and see what happens :-)

  3. I love looking at your jewelry and would like more pics and selections. Posting the pics here and paying by Paypal (or credit card?) would be great. My problem at the moment is money, more specifically the lack of it. Believe me if I had the cash I’d be a customer in a flash. No joke, I do like your jewelry and have thought about asking for a special order but not sure just what stones to use. It will come to me if I don’t see it first.

    1. Paypal gives you the choice of paying with credit card--I can't do it just through here, but it is easy enough to do that way as long as you have my email addy.

And I hear you about the cash flow issue. I'm not trying to nudge people to buy if they can't afford it or aren't interested...just trying to figure out the best places to use my time and energy.

If you ever want a necklace for a specific purpose (protection, for instance, in which case I might use black onyx and red jasper), you are always welcome to ask me about stones.

  4. 1. YES, I'd love to see/read more about the jewelry. (I browse your Etsy shop every so often!) 2. YES, I already have, and as soon as my finances improve, I aim to buy some jewelry for myself and for others. (I may inquire about a special order involving a pentacle and lapis lazuli...) 3. The Etsy shop was fine; it really doesn't matter to me. 4. I like to read about everything!

    1. Thanks Melissa! And just let me know :-)

Be aware, though, that special orders take time, so if you want one as a gift for the holidays, be sure to give me a couple of weeks at least, plus mailing time.

    2. No rush for the holidays! It will actually be a birthday present to me from relative who offered to buy me one of your necklaces. (My birthday is in later January.) Should I go through your Etsy special order section or e-mail you first with more info (and to seek out your artistic input!)?

Go ahead and email me at magicmysticminerva at yahoo and we'll put our heads together :-) What a nice relative!

  6. Honestly...I started following your blog after reading your piece in BBI Media's subscriber newsletter. While delighted to see what folks are up to and would be happy to see the occasional photo of jewelry, I'd probably unsubscribe if the emphasis changed overmuch. I'm not a jewelry person, so that's part of my reluctance. It's your blog so you should write about what makes YOU happy, and in these times we all need to do what we can to make a living, but since you asked, I'm a subscriber for the 'witchy writing' that you do so well!

    1. That is *exactly* why I asked, Ashling. But don't worry--it will never be a huge thing here, since I don't spend nearly as much time and energy on the jewelry as I do on the writing, the witchy stuff, and, of course, the cats :-)

  7. Hi, Deborah.

    Wow. Jewelry! Fantastic. :D

    My answers:

    1) Are you interesting in hearing more about the jewelry and/or seeing more pictures?

    Yes, yes, and yes.

    2) Would you actually want to buy jewelry from me (either for yourself or as a gift)?

    For sure. :)

    3) If you did, would you rather go through my Etsy shop or just look at pictures here and then pay through Paypal?

Well, I think both options are fine. But Etsy shop is more comfortable.

    4) Or would you rather I just stuck to talking about writing, witchcraft, and cats?

This is your blog and you are free to talk about anything you please. We are fans of Deborah Blake (the witch, writer, cat lover, jewelry designer, teacher...). And announcing your jewelry work through your blog will caught your fan´s attention and spread the word easily.

Sending you the brightest blessings with your wonderful Jewelry work. ;)
