Not Spring Yet

This is what it looks like outside my house right now.
Good thing I planned to stay in and write anyway...

  1. OMG snow fort!!!!

As a kid growing up in the Mojave Desert, we'd get snow that really didn't mean to be there at all. And my childhood aspiration was to build an igloo. So I'd run out as soon as the snow started to stick, scrape it into brick-like clods, and pile them in a circle. The highest I ever got was about 14 inches off the ground before the snow would realize it was in the wrong place and start melting. Making an igloo from slush just isn't the same... *sniff*

    1. When I was growing up, we had a lot of snow most winters and built snow forts all the time :-) Upstate NY...

Thankfully, this was a fairly short-lived squall, and there was only and inch or so of accumulation, although it is still flurrying and gray out.

  2. Looks like we have the same view. Total white out for a grand hour. Sad thing is the winter season has been rather lame in snow fall accumulation. I have a feeling this will all be gone in a day. (Hugs)Indigo

  3. That looks cold. Shivering here. Hope you are all bundled up with a cup of hot cocoa while you write.

  4. What state do you live in? We have had no snow here in MA. A few flurries and some wind this weekend. I am so waiting for my bulbs and asparagus to pop through, but I have to admit, I am a little jealous. I would like to walk in one whiteout before it ends.

    1. I'm in upstate NY. We haven't had much snow this winter, and I'm honestly okay with that :-) Although the few times it has shown up, it has been very pretty. It's only the end of February, though, and we've been known to get snow in April, so I suspect this isn't the last we'll see of it.
